Our Coach and Judge at the Louis & Company Dance Festival John Berry A veteran of the ballroom dancing community, John Berry has taught in both Europe and the United States for 38 years. Also an accomplished competitor, John has danced in pro-am and professional competitions throughout the world. His successes include winning the United States Rising Star Professional Standard Championships, representing Ireland at the World Professional Ballroom Championships in Hungary, making the top 24 in the World Professional Ballroom Championships in Japan, and receiving four Feather Awards for Top Teacher in the United States. In 2000, he was inducted into the Dancers’ Hall of Fame. John currently coaches and judges ballroom competitions around the country, while maintaining his residence in Indiana with his wife Lisa and their two children. Lisa, previously an ice dancer, began training in ballroom fifteen years ago, and has been dancing with John for four years. The couple won the World Pro-Am Standard Championships in Argentina in 2007. |
