Louis and Laura

The Latin and Rhythm dances are similar in that they are rhythmic, sexy, spicy and exciting. Their upbeat tempo and famed hip motion are the defining characteristics that make them fun and famous. When watching Latin and Rhythm dancers, you will typically see the ladies dressed in fancy, colorful and even skimpy dresses while the men usually wear black pants with a sexy shirt.

Divided into two categories, Latin is danced all over the world and is accepted internationally while Rhythm is most popular in America. When learning to dance socially, studios located in America will usually begin by teaching the Rhythm dances because they are widely accepted in the social dances circles in the United States. People that choose to dance Latin typically do so because they enjoy competing and perfecting their technical dance skills. As well, they may enjoy dancing internationally. Although these categories consist of many of the same dances, their tempo, steps and techniques are very different. Louis and Laura
